We won't sell you a green badge. We'll show you what we actually do.
People, produce and suppliers from the island first. Most of what a stay needs already exists within a few kilometres of the house — we just choose it over the imported version.
We keep the collection small on purpose. Fewer houses, properly maintained, use less than more houses run carelessly — and efficiency, not offset, is where the real saving is.
We repair before we replace, and specify materials that age rather than expire. The most sustainable furniture is the piece still in use in ten years.
Filtered still and sparkling in glass. No plastic bottles bought or served.
Refillable bathroom products, decanted in-house rather than thrown away.
Local laundry and housekeeping partners, paid fairly and on time.
Sensible schedules, with fans and cross-ventilation used before the aircon.
Produce and flowers from nearby markets and growers, in season.
Furniture and textiles from Balinese makers, repaired rather than replaced.
Separated and composted wherever the local service allows.
Staff travel pooled, and roles based near the houses they run.
None of this makes a flight to Bali disappear, and we won't claim otherwise. We'd rather do the honest, unglamorous things well than buy a certificate — and tell you plainly where we still fall short.
